In the Oil and Gas industry we are often required to measure tensile loads in chains, ropes or on the ends of hooks, lifting, towing and mooring applications.

Here we assess measuring strain, stress, load, pressure and torque by using strain gauges.

Active Load  have just supplied  2 load pins for a special marine application that needed the strain gauges to be bonded on external surfaces to determine the exact direction of load and to ensure that the output is not influenced by any applied torque.

The pins were fitted with internal amplifiers to give an enhanced output signal.

Active Load  have just supplied a couple of load pins complete with local load indicators.

The indicators were to display the load seen by the pin and to have an output that was used with a PLC. Volt free contacts were also supplied within the display for control of the winch.

Active load has just supplied a load shackle for an environmental engineering application. To be fitted to telescopic  boom vehicle to help with the overload system.

Active load has just supplied a telemetry load shackle for a remote loading application. Many of the remote applications are for dock areas for temporary load measurements on cranes.

Active Load have now developed a range of Running Line Tensiometers.
These have been designed to cover the range of rope sizes from 16mm diameter up to 76mm.

Active Load have now developed a static line Tensiometers.
These have been designed to cover the range of fabric rope sizes from 6mm diameter up to 12mm.

Active Load have recently delivered load pins to measure the hawser tensions of mooring buoys for the Cabinda Gulf Oil Company calm mooring system off the coast of Angola.

Active Load supplied 36 hollow compressive load cells for the World’s tallest building, Burj Dubai.

Last week on the Richard Hammond television programme on BBC2 they showed the engineering problem that had to be overcome on the Millau viaduct.

Active load have just received an order for a number of stub axle load cells for linear winch load monitoring.

Special low profile aluminium load cell manufactured for a special press where the press load is controlled via the output from the load cell.  The load cell has an internal amplifier giving 0 to 10Vdc output.

Active Load has had the opportunity to help Parkburn Precision Handling of Wolverhampton set the support roller on their cable carousel.

The 2LCi system provides graphical representation of load information from multiple strain gauge load cells.

Active Load provides complete transducer solution designing and manufacturing strain gauge transducers.

Strain gauge transducers are designed to be Load Cells, Force Sensors, Torque Sensors, Pressure Transducers and any other strain related product.

Active Load will incorporate the strain gauge cells with a strain gauge amplifier to achieve an enhanced signal. Many of our strain gauge load cells are designed to be in the form of load monitoring pins to measure rope tension. Other forms taken are as load monitoring links and compressive load cell.
